My obsession with the color pink is at an all time high. I want a pink car and pink nails and pink fur and everything in pink. I wish I was as in love with pink when I was young as I am now because I could have had a pink room, but alas, the tomboy in me was just NO to anything remotely girly.

 I have been busy the past several days so I need to take a few snaps as soon as I can and make this blog a bit of a priority. Also I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I don't celebrate it because it's a ridiculous concept to me to have one day to be thankful for things when I am thankful for so many things everyday. 

Yohji Yamamoto

“Men’s clothing is more pure in design. It’s more simple and has no decoration. Women want that. When I started designing, I wanted to make men’s clothes for women. But there were no buyers for it. Now there are. I always wonder who decided that there should be a difference in the clothes of men and women. Perhaps men decided this.”

How cute is Yohji Yamamoto? I have spent countless hours going through all his interviews and I am in love. I love his clothing, especially for women. Let's be real, whenever I talk about clothing, it's always going to be about women. I know little to none about men's fashion and it does not interest me. Women dressed more masculine and breaking all gender roles, yes. My favorite aspect when it comes to Yohji Yamamoto's dressmaking is that usually, his clothing for women are more masculine and as a tomboy growing up, this appeals to me in various ways. His designs are edgy but not COMME de GARÇONS edgy, yet so simple and chic and sometimes, very boxy. It's minimal, a whole lot of minimal. I also like the lack of high heels on women. I like heels but my god, at what cost? His entire collections are usually so aesthetically pleasing and minimalistic and especially during the 2000's and before that. I am not a huge fan of his most recent work of the S/S 2015 collection but his other collection contains pieces I want in my wardrobe.

This is the interview that made me fall in love with him. 

Personal // Eighteen and Nineteen.

My close friend and I always used to get mistaken for each other in high school by teachers and people used to think we were related. I had such a chill day, much needed since I have been stressing out about a lot of things. This weekend has been good.

I want to improve a lot of things:

• Body
• Style
• Health

I want to be happy in my body because right now after a weekend of KFC everyday, it's not healthy and my body is in horrible shape at the moment.
In regards to my style, I want pieces of clothing in my wardrobe that is who I am, not something I bought just because it was cheap. My ideal closet goal is basically to close my eyes, pick out anything and be happy with it. That'll also save me a lot of time on getting ready.
This is as personal as it's going to get on this blog and I will only rarely post pictures of my friends and give insights into my life. I want to focus on what I love, which is clothes, make up, music and other various bits and bobs and I don't want my private life on here, only the occasional ramblings.

Alexander Wang

The H&M collection for Alexander Wang has been released and sold out, I might add, has lead to me talking a lot of shit about that collection. I hate the collaboration, I hate everything about it and the past few days I have been trying to find out why I even like Alexander Wang's pieces. 

Firstly, if you only know Alexander Wang's H&M collection, you should go see his other pieces. His actual pieces. They are marvellous. Material is well done and will last you for ages, and all in all his usual pieces are elegant, yet sporty at the same time, which is hard for any designer to do. Now, for Alexander Wang's collaboration with H&M, I can't even begin to start with how overly popular it became. I also like Alexander Wang's marketing scheme because with all that hype, he definitely knew people would kill for his pieces, hence, he decided to put Wang all over. Good for you Mr.Wang, now every fucking one looks like a walking billboard and you get to promote your brand. Let's leave my hatred of the Alexander WangxH&M collection here.

With all the hatred towards the collection, I forgot why I loved the man in the first place and then, I remembered. His heat sensitive collection made me swoon the minute I laid my eyes on it and I still feel the love even today. The collection went beyond fashion week, it reminded people what fashion was really about, which is art. Revolutionary art right there. I think people have become more involved in trends and don't look at clothing pieces individually, nor do they see clothing for what it is; art. Every outfit you own can be made into a work of art and I think that is what Alexander Wang, actually, any designer wants and that's also what they make profit out of. 

This heat sensitive collection will be my favorite forever and maybe one day I will manage to get my hands on it, but for now, let's just admire it for what it is, art.

Shake me to my bones

I want to thank my 14 year old self for going through a punk phase because I ended up with a lot of nice clothes. Even though my style has changed drastically, it's always good to have a few rock pieces in my wardrobe.

Rules of Style from Yohji Yamamoto

1. I believe that there are three conditions to a woman’s beauty. First, you must realize that not all women are beautiful all of the time. Sometimes beauty comes on a subconscious level. When she is in love, or has met someone new and exciting, she shines. Second, you must understand that life is unfair. Beauty is something that, for some, must be worked at. The third condition is luck. Some women can just be lucky.

2. My role in all of this is very simple. I make clothing like armor. My clothing protects you from unwelcome eyes.

3. Color, for me, has too many stories wrapped around it. I like black, white, gray, and navy. Like a uniform.

4. Life is better for beautiful people. You can become lucky if you are beautiful, you can become rich. But there is no truth in this definition of beauty.

5. If you feel strongly about someone, go up to them. Pursue what you want in life. Why be shy about something like that?

6. You can tell what a woman is going to be like in bed just by looking at her. There is a feeling about someone that comes from experience. When you’ve seen it once, you will recognize it again.

7. Fashion cannot make you sexy. Experience makes you sexy. Imagination makes people sexy. You have to train yourself, you have to study, and you have to live your life.

8. I love the back. A beautiful back makes a beautiful front. When you slouch, think about what happens to your front. You have to keep your back in the right position. This is where your spirit lies.

9. Men’s clothing is about tiny details, and I hate that. I am very small and I look stupid in a perfectly tailored suit. I want to be able to wear things that don’t fit perfectly, with the sleeves far too long. I wish clothing came with no sizes at all. It would be much better that way.

10. The biggest mistake you can make in fashion is imitation. If we keep on like this, fashion will die. There was a time when I used to fall in love on the street every day. I would see someone with such a way about them or such a flawless item that I would have to say, “Stop! Please! That’s perfect.” That never happens anymore. Everything is too similar. Soon it will be only a T-shirt and jeans.

11. I don’t think we should try to make space our own. I believe that as modern people we should live in mobility. We should always be moving.
